Meet our composer for Behind Closed Doors Jason Johnson @downcrowd
Jason and I met at Loyola Marymount university, where I was lucky enough to have his musical genius compose original music for my first stage choreography. He had a unique set of parameters to work with for our film. We shot using place holder music, and he composed after we had our edit. What he created is so magical.
I wanted this film to be told thru choreography and original music. Jason, you are the best! What you did with each scene is 🤌🏽

Behind Closed Doors explores the intricate web of family dynamics through the art of dance. Often words lack the depth of emotional variation. This film allows you to experience and feel in a different language and to take away your own interpretations.
Set to a completely original score by Jason Johnson, @downcrowd who developed the music after the film was shot. Lisa and Jason collaborated on her first dance work in college, where he wrote the score.
The film showcases the work of 5 choreographers, directed by @lisa_eaton_ These choreographers vary in their specialties and were key in developing the movement language in the film.

Roy Wiegand was one of my favorite musicians ever. He was there in the beginning of my career and was always my main trumpeter. He was charitable, humble, a great family man, talented, positive and very funny. It’s fitting that he died while riding bike during a month long ride to raise money and awareness about water availability for tribes of First Nations. He was a generous great person.
