Bromus rubens, another glorious grass, but its the one whose seeds get stuck in your socks or if you have one, your dog's feet which isn't good.

Ciaran Boyle, returns to The Dovecot in September. He and Dave Oldroyd will share the evening ...book yourselves tickets as it says on image 2, bring your own booze, twill be a smashing warm fun evening of great music and a bit of chat too! Ciaran and Dave last played here one July afternoon 2 years ago, a casual gig with workshops going on and a memorial exhibition by Carol Crowe. A lovely occassion.

Wild oat grass, a smaller cousin of the Stipa Gigantia which graces every municipal roundabout. I love it! I have grasses in the garden, but you can't beat a huge area of it blowing in the wind!

There's always a garden thing here, it's a great back drop which comes into its own as a foreground subject through amazing fecundity and stuffed full planting...so here's 2 things- 31st May and then in July Jeremy Webster and Mick Leetham Cooper are showing their paintings and Jeremy's doing a garden painting workshop Monday 20 July.... For those of you who haven't yet used your tubes of oils (which you were given for Christmas) this is a great chance, and for those of you well versed with the medium this is also a great chance.
