#Anohni @anohni & the Johnsons live at Disney Hall tonight (and tomorrow) is a wonderful concert with an amazing band.
I’ve first met Anohni about 15-16 years ago at a Thanksgiving dinner with Lou Reed at Laurie Anderson’s and Lou was speaking so highly of Anohni’s voice. I had not heard it yet (except for speaking together at dinner) but when I finally did I was blown away!
I am sooo glad that Anohni is back playing #livemusic with this band, and what a band!!!! #LeoAbrahams @leoabrahams and the great #DougWieselman @dougwieselman (just to mention two of my favorite musicians) elevated it even more! Doug took a tear-jerking sax solo (see end of reel for an excerpt) that conveyed sooooo much emotion the crowd erupted in a spontaneous applause!
I hope to catch these guys again in New York when they play BAM.
