It’s where I shared my heart through food — and where our guests became family. As we move toward the close of this incredible chapter, I’m honored to share what comes next: Dougla Kitchen opening February 14, 2026.
The word “Dougla” is a Caribbean term, most commonly used in Caribbean and Guyana — and it reflects my own story. This restaurant will be a note to my grandmother, Elizabeth, whose love and influence shaped everything I’ve ever cooked. Until then, Black Walnut will continue to welcome you with the same warmth and excellence we’ve always been known for.
