I’ve looked to my nieces as a focal point for these. While this may not be their portraits, their characters strongly helped me work through this.
I’m particularly fascinated about how kids really don’t care about the ‘outside noise’ the chaos that goes on around us.

A signwriting wall I’ve done some time ago in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town.
Really enjoyed the process of this piece, which I could merge various forms of painting to complete it.
Recent commission that I had the joy of completing.
This one I had a real deep connection with. Dogs truly are man’s best friend. 🐶

Some recent work for a clinic/day hospital in Ruyterwacht.
Such a cool space and location for this piece. We opted for something different to the normal logo, and this is what we came up with.

Painted this a some time ago, for a local clinic based in Bellville South as part of their Youth Zone space.
Enjoyed the time spent there, chatting to some patients who passed by and the wonderful nursing staff.

Last week I handed this piece to its new owner.
Some pieces just move you more than others.
A piece that I felt grounded me. A piece that has brought so much clarity as to why I’ve chosen this art form and why I continually love to complete these pieces.
Yes, it took me a crazy amount of hours to complete and I always forget to track it.

When will it all end…
When is enough, enough…
Watching what’s been happening is heartbreaking to say the least.
My heart goes out to those who are still battling, still fighting for their lives, still being in the forefront, letting the world know the real realities that our fellow humans are faced with.

As a kid I would be working in the garden with my granny. Every now and then I would have to ‘spit’ the soil, making sure that it stays healthy and giving her plants and roses the best chance to bloom beautifully.
