The last time I entered a singing competition (campus superstar), I didn’t make it past auditions.
This time, I get to receive judges’ feedback in real time on TV (@nathanhartono@keweitay@denniszhouchongqing - meant more than I can fully put into words. Thank you for affirming the voice I am continuing to grow into.
And standing alongside @mediacorp.re.dian Encore artists I deeply respect, and placing 2nd in my episode. More to come (every Monday).
Deep gratitude to my vocal coach Jay @jaylimmusic , who guided me in that very moment on stage, teaching me how to let my voice fill the space. That moment changed something in me.

I study play for a living. Intentionally, curiously and sometimes outrageously! - “Hmm… What can I do with this?”
In my line, I can’t imagine losing the ability to connect with that part of ourselves, and losing the ability to give it to others. As busy as life gets, this always calls me back to the part of us that needs to exist.

We have mentors for our craft. But how do we begin to hold space for the rest of us?
For 1 night in March, we didn’t meet up after a dance event. The conversation was allowed to shift, and in a room filled with dancers in different life phases, we got to ask different questions. And that’s enough to start.
Because when we see the depth in others, beyond just the performer, we might start to see it in ourselves.
