I wrote “Back Soft” during a point in my healing journey when I realized I wasn’t experiencing enough spaces where I could truly be soft or define femininity on my own terms. Operation: Sound Design Part ✌🏾 I think we’re seeing sounds (or whatever @pharrell used to say 👽) a gazillion harmony stacks, rearranged verses, and a few chord progressions later… I finally feel like we’ve arrived at the “aha” moment where the song feels real! Rounding out Black Music Month with an historic celebration 🎉👏🏾 We landed 5 sync placements on three episodes of CBS's new soap opera, Beyond the Gates. This series is the first soap opera to be green lit in over 25 years and, in a collaboration between CBS and the NAACP, it is the first Black-led daytime drama since "Generations" and the "Passions" premiere in 1999. In addition, the series is created by Emmy award winning writer, Michele Val Jean, the first African-American in history to hold the title of head writer on a daytime television series.
