A wonderful little stingray with a pointed nose like an eagleās beak! These are some of the largest eagle years, with widths of over 3 meters!
I want to take the time to thank you all for the support this mermay! My style or quality arenāt the most consistent lately but Iām trying to make sure I have fun instead of slogging through. So far itās working!

Onto the facts! This mermaid is based on the skeleton panda sea squirt! They live off the coast of Japan and eat plankton! These species is rather new in terms of discovery, only formally being described by scientists in 2024!

I needed a bit more color in my mermay
So I opted for the parrotfish!
Parrotfish are a a wonderful group of fish characterized with their namesake trait, a large beak that they use for scraping corals! While this may sound harmful, it actually acts as a free wash for the reefs.
Some surround themselves with sleeping bags of mucus as they sleep to keep safe from predators

The dragon moray eel! (Also known as the leaped eel, Japanese dragon eel, or just dragon eel) Dragon moray eels are carnivorous, feeding on anything from squid to shrimp to some smaller varieties of shark! Theyāre opportunistic and will eat just about anything. Like some other eels they have two sets of jaws!

Sarcastic fringeheads are angry little fish. They stake claim to a territory like a clam burrow, a large empty shell, maybe even a broken bottle. Once they do theyāll defend the territory fiercely with ākissesā as they see which one has the biggest mouth!

Iām back at it again with my own prompts (of course) and to start us off we have a fishy fact about our fish in question!
This mermaid is based on the Pygmy seahorse. Itās one of the smallest vertebrates on the planet at a maximum length of 2.4 cm. Theyāre masters of camouflage and take the color of whatever gorgonian coral they live on.
