Bringing his infectious energy, its our MC: 👉⭐️JONNI⭐️👈 Dr. Jonathan ‘Jonni’ Homsey has a deep passion for the arts, beginning with street dance in 2002. Born and raised in Hong Kong and the USA, he has since become an artistic director. From dancing on tour for Guy Sebastian to choreographing musicals, Jonni’s practice of empowering through movement travels across dance, theatre, and visual arts. His accolades include the 2013 Melbourne Fringe Award for Best Emerging Producer, the 2021 Green Room Award for Best Dance Production for “I Am Maggie,” and the 2024 City of Melbourne Arts & Heritage Collection Residency. He is also humbled to have been nominated at the Green Room Awards for his choreography across musical theatre, dance and cabaret. Jonathan is an emerging academic and holds a Doctorate of Creative Industries from Queensland University of Technology where he researched choreographic empowerment strategies through models of co-design and Participatory Action Research. Revealing our judge, 💫✨CARO✨💫 Caro is a Naarm-based dance artist, producer, teacher, and choreographer of Chinese-Malaysian heritage. With over a decade of classical dance training, she now specialises in Waacking and is a proud member of a5 and Burn City Waack – Australia’s largest Waacking community. Her practice is deeply influenced by her lifelong connection to street dance, which began during her time as a university student and leader of a dance society. During this time, Caro has explored other street dance genres such as House, Krump, Hip-hop, and most recently - Vogue Femme, Old Way & Popping. Caro’s work spans producing events, teaching, choreographing, and leading in various capacities. Over the years, she has immersed herself in diverse street dance cultures and forms, engaging with a wide range of communities. Caro has been the Community Producer at Dancehouse from 2021-2025 Some recent achievements include: RedBull Dance Your Style National Qualifier - Top 16 (Open styles) RedBull State vs. State - Top 4 (3 v 3 Open styles) Ocean2Sky 2024 - Winner (Choreography) Blue Flame Kiki Night 2024 - Winner (Virgin Performance) Waacking Inferno 2024 - Runner Up (2v2 Open styles) Toast or be Toasted Vol.3 2024 - Judge Greenroom Awards 2023 - Nominated choreography for ’Guys & Dolls’ Regos are open now!
