PLEASE DON’T FORGET: THE CITY OF LONDON CORPORATION (1 of the 5 films recently exhibited at @vibesafterdark / @newarkmuseumart ) The message is simple: governance should prioritize humanity, not just business. A few years ago, I learned the unsettling truth about how the banks own the City of London and ultimately its police force. Now more than ever, we’re witnessing the consequences of governing through a business-first mindset, that lacks compassion and humanity. PLEASE DON’T FORGET. #PleaseDontForget #CityOfLondonCorporation #HumanityFirst #ArtAsResistance #SocialAwareness #CreativeActivism

Brothers A new “60 seconds in my life” film Though I’ve chosen to release the majority of my 60 second film series in private theatrical settings there’s times where I feel it’s important that the world gets a specific message, views a specific visual, and gains the opportunity to reflect on their life. This film is special to me but it’s essential for all of us (sistas included) to not forget how important being with our people is a source for inspiration, love, protection, and happiness. I pray we all get one more chance to get together. This is for the brothers. 🤞🏾 #losangeles #lafilm #blackfilmmaker #blackcinema #shortfilm #fellowship #inspirationalfilm #blackcreatives

Last night my brother Calvin Laughlin passed due to a sudden accident. We have no information to give at the moment of next steps. Please consider my family in your prayers as we go through this tough time and give us grace with any responses you may need. I’m not ready to talk about this but my immediate family has all agreed it’s important that I post this before anyone else. Thank you and love you Cal.

Rest In Peace Roxie 🕊️ I met Roxie randomly on Broad and Market while I was out shooting one day, and she asked me if I wanted to interview her. It caught me off guard because most people ask not to be recorded when a camera is around, but she knew she had something to say. She left me with her story, but ultimately a good word that’s become a staple in my PLEASE DON’T FORGET project, one that speaks on God’s plan and timing. Roxie will forever stand as a prophet in my story, someone who reminded me to trust God. I’m grateful for the moment she gave me. That was the first and last time I saw Roxie… but it won’t be the last time the world sees her. PLEASE DON’T FORGET ROXIE.

Filming these videos in preparation for his retirement was surreal. It felt like I was witnessing Superman putting his cape down after a job well done. At 31 years old, I’ve only ever known my father in uniform, as Officer Calvin Laughlin, and seeing him step into this new chapter is something I’m still finding the words to describe. But I do know I’m proud of him. He took the same love from our home and gave it to a whole town and you can feel it when you walk with him in Piscataway. He showed me how important it is to have a “Good Name” and live by principles like Treat people fairly, stay close to God, and keep family first. On August 14th, we’ll be honoring a true hometown hero. Whether you knew him as your DARE officer, your protector, your second chance, your crossing guard, your deacon, your confidant, or your father figure, he was always my Dad, and I’m honored to help celebrate the impact he’s made on us all. Please join us for his retirement walk-out ceremony and luncheon. Let’s send him into retirement with the same love and care he’s given to his community for the past three decades. 🟨 RSVP here: /e/PwHmWYocz7nf8leDPYA0 #Retirement #HometownHero #PublicService #LawEnforcement #CommunityLeader #Legacy #FamilyMilestone #Piscataway
