Grateful to Matt Love and the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for inviting my family and me to the session this week. It was a genuine honour to visit someplace so grand, much less be acknowledged there. Saskatchewan is a land of so many incredible artists, and it meant a great deal to be singled out among them. Thank you for the experience.

Had a wonderful time at the @plastic_salad Unprompted show. Seeing all the incredible work by such a diverse group of artists really made me glad to have submitted a piece. A very fun night with great people, I felt fortunate to be a part of it all. Many thanks to the great @jaymieraefta for organizing!

Hey! This very weekend I have an art opening at @dankspacestudio , 433 20th Street. As you can see, it’s a murderer’s row of SK illustrators so I feel very lucky to be counted among these artists. If you’re out that night, there’s really only one place to be. The reception is Saturday, May 9, 6:00–9:00 PM. RSVP in the bio at @plastic_salad

I still can’t really believe this happened: I am so grateful to Matt Love and the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for inviting my family and me to the session this week. It was a genuine honour to visit someplace so grand, much less be acknowledged there. Saskatchewan is indeed a land of many incredible artists, and it meant a great deal to be singled out among them. Thank you for the experience, and for the astonishing kindness. I’ll never forget it.

Rest in peace John Nolan, the wonderful character actor and uncle of the Nolan brothers. He was a phenomenal villain in the still underrated Person of Interest.

So here’s the thing: it’s terrible to send out a Christmas card in late February. But, it is still even worse to make it and not send out at all. So watch your mailboxes, friends we’ve talked to in the last year or so. Next year, we’ll do better.

ROBERT DUVALL 1931-2026 | So passes the greatest living actor (in my opinion). Robert Duvall was never anything but authentic in every role. So many of his great performances (Gus McRae in Lonesome Dove, Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies, The Apostle EF in The Apostle) were family favourites. May he rest in peace.

Hey! I’m trying to read more this year, and the first book I finished so far was Hamnet, which I really liked. Want to know more? Head to my blog! There’s artwork too.

Here’s something cool: A group of artists and I were permitted to create a series of works that tell the Advent story through visual art. Each artist responded to a specific Scripture in their own medium, reflecting on the Christmas narrative in a personal and creative way. The full collection is now on display among the wreaths in Common Ground at Circle Drive Alliance Church, where it will remain until Christmas. It has been a meaningful project for everyone involved, even if it has unfolded a bit under the radar. The artists put real care and thought into these pieces, so if you attend @circleyxe , please make some time to take a look some Sunday. It was created to enrich the Advent season, and we would be grateful for people to experience it.
