Want to get to know a little more about the principals leading our world premiere of SOMEBODY TO LOVE, a new musical playing this Spring at the Karyn Jackson Theatre, home of Rubicon Theatre Company in Ventura, CA! DONOVAN MENDELOVITZ (Joseph) is so grateful to be making his Rubicon debut in Somebody to Love, and wants to thank you for coming! Since moving back to Los Angeles, he has performed in several productions around Southern California, recently Legally Blonde (La Mirada/Ordway), Fiddler on the Roof (Moonlight Stage, La Mirada), Jersey Boys (Musical Theatre West, CCAE), and Cabaret (5 Star Theatricals). His other favorite roles include Stacee Jax in Rock of Ages (San Antonio Broadway) and Steve in the upcoming indie feature film “LAced”. Huge thanks to Jeremy, Sean, Brett, and the whole Rubicon team for this experience, and to Rob and Pru for the chance to craft this character with them. He is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School and is represented by ATB Talent. Last weekend, we opened Fiddler on The Roof @lamiradatheatre and this week I made my swing debut! I am so proud to be a part of this beautiful production and to get to work with this stellar cast. Thank you @price.lonny @leemartino6 @goodheart9na for your vision and leadership. Shoutout to my swing sister @baileyhersk for holding it down (by it, I mean my sanity). Endlessly grateful 🎻✨

One year ago, Fridays became my favorite night of the week ✨ On October 5th we opened @lacagelive at the Hollywood Roosevelt and my life was forever changed. This incredibly special and gifted group of artists came together to create something so uniquely us and I am a better performer for having shared the stage with each one of these humans. I learned so much in the Cinegrill and I am eternally grateful for the family I gained in the process. Thank you to @davidlamoureux @addisonbrasil @santomiclo @lindsaykbrooks for giving me the chance to find my inner unicorn 🦄

Last week, I had the most beautiful bday I could never ask for. I was already overwhelmed by the beautiful messages I got throughout the day, to then walk into a room full of people I absolutely adore completely sent me. Feeling so grateful for this last year in LA and a huge love you and thank you to my hot blondes @josiah.blount and @rachelhirschfeld for making me cry for the first time in 300 years 🎉✨

A week ago, we closed Rock of Ages with @officialsabt 🤘and I cannot stress enough what a joy it was to work with this group of artists. We held each other through this fast and furious process and, just like the film franchise, we became family. Thank you to @alexrodriguezlive for your generous leadership, @lakeaustinboulevard for your musical guidance, @virgo.sunrise for keeping it all together, and @laurencosio for trusting me with Stacee Jax and putting on the WHOLE DAMN SHOW! “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” and saying goodbye to all of these gems truly felt like that 💀🌹✨
