Im definitely going through a lot of emotions right now, a part of me feels so much pain and disappointment, but just like my performance I have to pick myself up and continue dancing. As much as I wanted to move forward to the next round, the true victory is to be a part of @shuffolution and to have experienced this journey with them. Our passion for shuffling is what brought us together, and together we made history as the first ever shuffle crew to make it to the quarter-finals of @agt Im so grateful for this experience, the doors it's opened, and the growth in me to rise to the occasion and pursue my dreams with even more ferocity and determination. Standstill Traffic Vibes Every weekend for the last four months I’ve commuted seven hundred miles between San Francisco and Los Angeles in pursuit of my dream dance career. I am worn out, I am hanging on by a thread, and when I hit standstill traffic for over an hour I felt my stress reach an unbearable high. I jumped out of my car to blow off steam and was greeted with 100 degree heat. I set my camera and speaker between the cars and turned to get in position. I saw many faces, most of them visibly annoyed from being stuck on Interstate 5. The music comes on, I turn to face the camera, and the world disappears as I fall in with the drop of the beat. I lose myself to the music for a moment, flailing and convulsing from my feelings. When I gas out, my breath is heavy and I feel lighter. I turn to see smiles from the other drivers as they cheer and honk for me, filling me with joy. Not only was I able to relieve my tension, I relieved some of theirs as well, and that made me feel a thousand times better. This is why I do it, for peace within myself, and peace between others. A huge part of why I love dance is that it's a universal language, and through it I'm able to connect with people from around the world. So so grateful for the chance to make a jazzy shuffle with @em.delacrem dancing with people is my greatest joy and what a joy to dance with someone so talented and fun. With @theshuffleverse being less than a week away, I am riddled with nerves. It will always be a challenge to fight down that voice in our heads that tells us we're not good enough. Dancing together is the fuel I need to fight, dancing together in gratitude for the shared peace between us. Dancing together is a universal sign of acceptance. I am so grateful for my dance partner @flowwwinn for being a driving force of creativity, you inspire me every day. I am so grateful for all my friends who've ever shared a dance with me. I am so grateful for all my students who've given value to the skills I contribute. Thankyou all for being present in my life, for celebrating me and believing in me.
