Bless the family that gave me a warm meal. I remain undefeated by the road, rather, a companion.

Hello everyone! On April 23rd I walk from Lands End to John O Groats (with a heavy backpack and cameras dangled off of me) to fundraise and research for my FIRST documentary! (Link in Bio!) It is in documentation of an older, more romantic England that exists at the heart of all English poetry & music, and in the hearts and minds of people. An England that is a myth and an ideal that exists in glimpses. I’ll be trying to find that England and investigate why it has become a frontier, what has changed and what threatens the romanticism and the national identity, as well as documenting the unfolding seasons of the beautiful countryside and the dying heritage crafts of the folk! I’ll be documenting old churches, landscapes, cottages, ways of living and seeing whilst myself becoming more intimate with the land and documenting that old poets way of travelling. Additionally I’ll be writing a poetry collection and shooting a photography series on medium format celluloid, in attempt to capture that same England. The documentary I intend to shoot on 16mm film in line with my search for authenticity- but it is costly!! So I am aiming for £6,000 as a start for what I hope becomes a broader project! So I address the romantics, the readers, the village folk, the pub goers, the walkers, the craftsmen, the artisans, the architects, the artists, the gardeners, the animal lovers, the country lovers and all those who value identity, please do consider donating to this purpose. The link is in my bio 💛 Regards, Dominic x #youngpoet #pilgrim #hedgerow #romanticism #englishforlife

All the promise and fruits of a new land washed up at my feet on the shores of Andalusia from the cradle of Africa. They sought passage on the swash of fishing boats and liners, I followed their trail to whence they came.
