This Friday, we will come together to honour the life and legacy of Noel Duffy, a man whose passion, leadership and unwavering commitment to accessibility transformed lives.
At New College Worcester, a newly installed pedestrian crossing will be officially opened in Noel’s name, a lasting tribute that reflects his lifelong dedication to empowering people who are blind or vision impaired. This crossing will help students practise vital road-crossing skills safely and confidently for generations to come.
Noel was not only a Governor of NCW, but a champion for accessibility across the UK, a leader in assistive technology, and a tireless advocate for inclusion. Naming this crossing after him ensures his impact will continue to be felt every single day.

We're Finalists!
Dolphin is delighted to be announced as a Finalist for Small Business of the Year at the @h_w_chamber Business Awards 2026.
As we celebrate 40 years of creating assistive technology that supports vision impaired people to read, learn and work with confidence, this recognition means a great deal to our whole team. It reflects the dedication and expertise that drives us, and the commitment we share to making workplaces, schools and homes more accessible.
A huge thank you to the Chamber, and congratulations to all the fantastic finalists across the region. We’re proud to be in such inspiring company.
Why make reading accessible in classrooms?
71% of dyslexic pupils showed improvement in reading
70% of pupils improved their writing
68% improved their confidence
71% improved their level of achievement
100% of teachers saved time by having a central repository of accessible texts.
Accessible reading material is a gateway to reading for so many neurodivergent young people. Access to books, which can be read, studied and enjoyed in ways that work for the reader has a profound impact on students' education and wellbeing.
Accessibility removes barriers for neurodivergent students and students with other SEND requirements. It means they can read, learn and enjoy books at the same time as their peers. It doesn't take anything away from neurotypical students, it simply ensures everyone starts with the same opportunities.
If you would like to see these sort of improvements and outcomes for the neurodivergent students in your school, introduce EasyReader Education in your setting: /EasyReader/Education
These figures come from the DfE study 'Accessible Resources Pilot Project' /hubfs/5163272/EasyReader%20Premium/Final%20Report.pdf which investigated the benefits of accessible resources for UK students, and led to the RNIB Bookshare Education Collection and Dolphin EasyReader.
