Poems for this tour are in response to the hope people ask for. Perhaps, by giving out a little hope to the people who need it, I can give people something to hang on to. Their own star to follow. A little gas to put in the tank. I have found that people are craving something human these days. Something real. Connection, community, a reason to be alive. That their integrity is still worth fighting for. I never felt like I belonged in Academia, and even after getting my degree, its promises were never fulfilled. You could win a prestigious award from the Academy of American Poets and Jesse Waters will still call you a “self proclaimed poet” on the news to help justify your murder. It’s not the titles we leave behind. It’s the poems, and the people who read them. I don’t write poems for submittable blind reading panels, or publishing houses. I write them for people. I write them for you.

Back in SLC babyyyy! Poems downtown for mothers day weekend! I've got some special stationary I acquired in my journey that is perfect for mother's day.
Making my way back home from this poetry tour. It's been a long road. Over 7000 miles driven so far. Had to get an oil change part way through the trip.
I stayed in some beautiful places, recieved hospitality from beautiful people, and I got married too. Don't worry, the wedding everyone is invited to is October 31st 2027 in SLC. We just got the government part out of the way
Also, 1 honorable mention.
Wildest moment: performing accross the street from the Hilton where someone tried to 🪦 Drumpf the day after it happened.

Here's a tour update! I'm nearing the end of the Despite Everything tour. I always find myself longing for the mountains, but the forests of Maryland have been beautiful.
I've got 1 competition and 1 feature set left before I wend my way back accross the country. I'll be doing a long shout out post after my last show. But needless to say, I met a lot of incredible folks doing incredible work all over the country, resolute and undaunted. I think I found the hope I was looking for.
