Yesterday, I launched something I’ve been building with a lot of heart. @DoGood Crew is my new media company built on one belief: stories should move people to act. After two decades of reporting the news, I realized I could do more than just tell stories. I could create a space where good stories lead to good action. Here’s what we’re building: -The Person Who Believed In Me - A podcast where extraordinary people share the person who believed in them before the world did. First episode with Oprah is out now. -Do Good Crew Newsletter - Your good news every Tuesday. Real stories, real action. -The GOOD Stage - Live events celebrating everyday Americans making extraordinary impact. If you’ve ever stopped me to say you needed a good news story, this is for you. Because the truth is, I need it too. First episode with Oprah is out now. Join us at thedogoodcrew.com to listen, subscribe, and share your stories. Let’s do this together.

@davidbegnaud is known for sharing stories of incredible kindness and generosity from everyday Americans — and now, he’s taking his mission one step further. With his @dogood Crew, David is building a community with the same spirit he shares on CBS Mornings. He explains how @believedpodcast will feature new stories from people like Oprah, and what else is in store.

ATTENTION DO GOOD CREW IN BOSTON! A World War II veteran died at 98 years old with no known family to attend his funeral. His name is John Arnold III. He served in the U.S. Navy. His caretaker said he was the sweetest man she ever had the pleasure of knowing. He deserves a proper goodbye and the @DoGood Crew can make that happen. If you are in the Boston area please show up for John on Monday May 18th. Visitation at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson Massachusetts. Attendees and pallbearers are needed. If you cannot be there share this post and help us spread the word. Let’s make sure John does not go alone.

A dad was stranded on the side of the road with his kids for 30 minutes. Cars kept flying past. Then a stranger pulled over. He brought gas. He brought snacks. He gave the dad his business card and said if you ever get stuck again don’t hesitate to call. Nobody asked him to stop. Nobody was watching. He just saw a family that needed help and did something about it. That is doing good. And that is exactly what this community was built to celebrate. We share moments like this one every week in the @DoGood Crew newsletter. If you want more good news in your inbox every Tuesday comment “SUBSCRIBE” below and we will DM you the link. It is completely free. Video credit: @reasonrobison

A helping hand for a family of ducks. Every morning, a mother duck and her ducklings take a swim in a Turkish hotel pool, and each time, the ducklings have a hard time getting out. A staffer soon noticed and started placing a wet towel at the edge, serving as a simple ramp that let them climb to safety. A young soldier stood alone at a military ceremony. No one had come for him. A woman who had come to celebrate her own son noticed. She walked over and asked if she could give him a hug. That is it. That is the whole story. And it is everything. This is the kind of moment the @DoGood Crew was built to celebrate. The ones that happen quietly, with no audience, no agenda, and no expectation of anything in return. Just one person seeing another person and choosing to show up. If this made you feel something, share it with someone who needs to see it today. Video credit: @trevorfarnes and @jennajfarnes

Her mom gave her daughter life twice. At 18 years old Rita Pessoa’s kidneys failed. Within a year she needed a transplant to survive. Her mom stepped forward as a donor. And she was a match. That transplant happened 25 years ago at @coopermanbarnabas Medical Center. Today Rita is a wife and a mom herself living the life she once feared she might lose. And every Mother’s Day she gets to spend it with the woman who made it all possible. Swipe through their story. A chef at a nursing home was getting complaints from 75% of his residents. So he asked them one simple question and it changed everything. Chef @CraigBowerson started collecting their recipes. Index cards from the 1920s written in their mothers’ handwriting. Dishes they had not tasted in decades. And then he cooked them. Complaints dropped to almost nothing. This is exactly the kind of story we tell in the @DoGood Crew newsletter every week. Comment “SUBSCRIBE” below and we’ll DM you to get on the list. Video credit: @owenbytheoven
