My old pal, Stuart Ziff talking about the life, many accomplishments and interests, and sculpture of our dear late friend Larry Albright at the @museumofneonart at Friday’s opening. Go see the show!! At the opening I told an anecdote about an early crackle tube piece of Larry’s from the mid seventies. On Saturday, Stu shared with us a notebook that he had saved from the trash (!) that had this original sketch of the piece. Amazing. That drawing may be all that remains if it today. The third photo shows my life long friend Mitchell Wade and Stuart in his studio. Stuart, Mitch and I all meet Larry in 1973 when we all were 23 years old. 💡💛

The last time. My first tube was processed in my shop in Signal Hill on July 18, 1975. My last two tubes were processed out of my shop in Valona, CA today, January 21, 2024. An unfinished sample tube of my favorite currently available mercury colors and a repair of the long neglected broken “Sue-shi” sign from Howard the Duck (1986). Slide two shows an ice bath to capture unwanted impurities. The plumber comes tomorrow to unhook the natural gas manifold from the city gas system and we disconnect the bombarder from the panel. Goodbye little plant.
