These are a couple months old now but these are photos I had taken during a no kings protest down in Milwaukie, OR in March. Every no kings protest and protest in general always has me thinking “am I doing enough to help change things?” Or “am I still too complacent in this system that I desperately want myself and friends/family out of?” I ponder on what really is the best way to make change and take action and some days I feel like I do well and other days I feel weak and helpless. But to sit in this feeling of helplessness is what I know our fascists government wants. It wants us to be at each others throats, it wants us to struggle and never care for ourselves or others around us, it wants the people disorganized and scared so no one can organize and fight together. Im not sure where I am going with this but all I know is I want to keep being there for the community around me. Even if thats just with helping a friend through a hard time, planning community events, setting up fundraisers, helping that neighbor I dont know, supporting local businesses, making small talk at the register. Sometimes helping may come out as even more life risking but if we cant even risk our lives for marganilized groups/communites where evening existing in this country could mean life or death then how can I say Id want to revolutionize when I wont even risk my own discomfort?

NO LONGER LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS! Thank you:) Hello! For pride month starting this month I am looking for 15-20 trans community members that would like to participate in this project with me. Ive been wanting to do something that highlights trans folks in a positive way for a while and this year Id like to do that by sharing your beautiful faces and what trans joy really is! My goal is to make a small book/zine at the end to distribute in trans spaces. This project is a completely at volunteer will as I sadly have no funds to give in return and nor will be profiting from. If you have any questions please DM me!

Serendip: the origin of Serendipity, meaning Fortuitous discovery. Serendip zine is an independently published Arts magazine with a focus on creating community and connecting creatives 💙✨ April artist feature: @patchwork.nat Model: @desstiiineee Photographer @dog.bit3 When we only commodify art, leave it to the capitalist, it’s like placing a price on airflow. Human creation is essential. In a time where the gap to access art and create it is widening we look to be a hand in mending it. In a time where luxury brands are hiring artists and soda companies push AI slop onto the consumer, creating a standard where the rich are worthy of hand-drawn human art and the poor deserve what’s been stolen from real artists, and regenerated into something uncanny, We are here to remind you: ART IS FOR ALL! It belongs to the fingertips, and the heart beats, the irises and the goosebumps, the shaky breath and the eardrums. Whatever way you experience art, creation belongs to us, not the machines or the man with money behind the curtain. We are here to remind you not to accept that you are less deserving of genuine reality just cause you can’t pay the price tag. Each month we highlight a new artist, giving small artists the chance for a spotlight. Each issue is a collaborative process with the artist, coming out a little different each time depending on the vision. Every issue will come with a 3in button exclusive to the first press of the magazine, signed artwork from that month's artist (CD’s, Prints, Ceramics, Stickers, Apparel, and more!) and a variety of content from activities you can cut out, games, news, photoshoots, comics, an AD space where anyone can take out a free slot (advertise your band, look for advice, share your talent, publish a bad poem, promote your event, anything). Contact @serendipzine on Instagram to take out a space! All profits from the magazine are split 50/50 with that month’s artist. All support is appreciated so we can pay our creatives for their work and keep expanding Serendip to support creatives at any stage in their career. We offer sliding scale prices with the hope to open access to our magazine to as many people as possible.
