Join Day One for a community conversation about how trees, parks, and water projects can make our neighborhoods healthier! Dinner and interpretation provided!
Wind and all, our E-asy Access riders showed up last Saturday and had a great time out on the Emerald Necklace network!
Riders joined us from the Jeff Seymour Family Center in El Monte for an intermediate ride exploring our local parks and green infrastructure. Along the way, the team from @day1do shared their work on local water resilience, including how community stormwater projects are building a more sustainable and water-independent San Gabriel Valley.
Blustery weather didn't slow anyone down. Riding through the Emerald Necklace is a good reminder of how our parks, paths, and green spaces are the foundation of a more resilient region.
Next up: join us on March 21st as we visit the newly opened Baldwin Park Greenway. Register at the link in our bio!
About the E-asy Access Program:
The E-asy Access program reduces barriers to parks and recreation by providing San Gabriel Valley residents with no-cost access to high-quality electric commuter bikes. Funded through Measure A, the program helps participants comfortably reach destinations like Whittier Narrows, the San Gabriel River Trail, Rio Hondo River Trail, and dozens of parks and communities across the SGV.
California suffers from some of the worst air quality in the country. Collectively, we have the power to help all Californians. Join us in challenging yourself to create clean air in your community.
Make a pledge to clear the air at foothilltransit.org/cleanair. One of the easiest ways to do that is to take public transit.
On Wednesday, October 2, @cleanairday , Foothill Transit, Metrolink and Metro Los Angeles will make it even easier for you by letting you ride for free!
Join us in fostering #InclusiveCommunities #HealthyCommunities with the #WeekWithoutDriving challenge. This initiative sheds light on the daily #transportationbarriers faced by nearly a quarter of Americans - including those with disabilities, seniors, and low-income individuals. By participating, we can contribute to meaningful discussions and actions towards more accessible and equitable transportation solutions. Learn how you can participate at weekwithoutdriving.org.

Starting next week, Metro will host a series of community meetings on its plan to widen the 605 Freeway, plus connecting Freeways: the 5, 10, 60 and 105. As we know, widening freeways only induces more people to drive, worsening congestion and pollution. There's also a long history of resident displacement related to freeway construction/expansion - particularly in African American and Latino communities.
If you can, please attend one of these meetings and tell Metro: no more freeway widening!
