What a Captain, what a team, what a family…what a week!!!
Yesterday what almost everyone thought impossible became reality! It was hard, intense, nerve-wracking…Rome was great, this one is 10 times better!
Luke was simply incredible. It’s hard to describe the amount of time, effort and planning that he dedicated to this. He nailed every little detail and it’s impossible to describe everything that he did to make this possible. Literally everything in the last 24 months was planned and discussed, he dedicated 2 years of his life to give the European team the best chance to succeed and we should all feel extremely grateful to have him as our captain. As Keegan said yesterday, and without lacking respect to any of our past captains, he is the best Ryder Cup captain we ever had.
The players and caddies were also unbelievable. They are the ones on the course and a plan is only great if they can perform on the course. They had to do it with an amount of abuse directed at them and their families that it’s hard to understand how they were able to play that level of golf in such a hostile environment. I’ve never seen or heard anything like it and I hope a line is now drawn that shouldn’t be crossed again. How everyone in the team handled themselves in that atmosphere is something they should be proud of.
Also a massive thank you to my wife, my kids and my family for supporting me every step of the way. I spent a lot of time away from them helping Luke in this, they were all very patient and understanding. My work is a very very small percentage of what goes into it and I get too much praise for it. I am just happy to be part of it and have a small say in what happens.
Lastly a massive thank you to all the staff of Ryder Cup Europe for putting this together. They do an amazing job and it goes very unnoticed.
As Rory said two years ago in Rome…”One of the biggest accomplishments right now in golf is winning an away Ryder Cup. And that’s what we are gonna do at Bethpage!”. Said and done.
OUR TIME, OUR PLACE!
13-15 💛💙🗽🏆
One of the best weeks of my life on a golf course…and I didn’t even hit a shot!
2 years ago after Whistling Straits no one thought this was possible. Just a few months ago very few gave us a chance…but as so many times before, European players came together all led by a fantastic @lukedonald . Captain, players, caddies, wives and partners, everyone involved with Team Europe worked together to get the Cup back…and we did it!
Congrats to Luke and the 12 players, I’ve never seen a more motivated group of people. And lastly a huge thank you to the fans…the atmosphere was simply unreal, I will get goosebumps for years to come!
@rydercupeurope
For the past few months we have worked closely with some of the brightest minds in golf and showed them our new calculations. With our latest update yesterday, you now have access to the same calculations that our tour players trust on the biggest stages in golf. You’re welcome.
A huge thank you to Dr Michelle Carlson at @hspecialsurgery , Dr Luca Stefanini, @bristot_federico and all the staff at @jmedical.official , for supporting me getting back to full health with incredible professionalism, care and expertise. It’s been a over 7 months since August 12th, when I had left MCP fusion on my thumb. We knew it was going to be a long road but I am so happy now to see the end of it…and to be able to practice and play golf pain free after a few injuries is like a dream!
Even more importantly thank you to my wife Anna and my family for your patience. A lot of it. 😅 It is not easy to put up with me when I can’t play golf.
I’ll be playing my first tournament back on @dpworldtour at the Hero Indian Open next week. 🇮🇳 I CAN’T WAIT! 🏌️♂️
See you all on a golf course soon!

A presto su un campo da golf!
