1986- Doc Watson takes a seat on Doc’s Rock beside Shanty Springs Branch on the Grandfather Mountain Profile Trail. Doc came out with other members of the Watson family to assist the mountain in moving a few rocks that were part of Merle’s Milestones, the stepping stones that were positioned across the creek.

Billy being his authentic self, closing out the Greensboro show with some Doc Watson. The jams and light show in Carolina was must-see music TV (if you ask me) but this moment just makes you smile. Nothing like hearing Billy play Doc in NC.
