Along the eastern coastline, there is a city that has always remained open to the wind. Monsoon currents arrive from the sea, carrying with them the scent of spices, the echo of faith, and the traces of language and civilization. Here, they meet, converge, and are shaped—again and again—by the passage of time.
Scent sets out from the ocean and unfolds along the textures of Quanzhou, moving through streets, beneath eaves, across stone steps—until it enters one’s breath, one’s rhythm, one’s very warmth.

This season, DOCUMENTS follows the wind—arriving in Quanzhou.
For centuries, Quanzhou has stood as a vital maritime port. Seasonal winds carried spices, cultures, and beliefs across oceans, settling over time into the city’s singular atmosphere.
Between sea breeze, narrow lanes, stone steps, and temples, a way of life emerges—both open and inward, expansive yet restrained.
In 2023, DOCUMENTS collaborated with @kaipuuhotels ‘ hotels—KAIPUU ON THE REEF and KAIPUU BELFRY— to trace the cultural lineage of Minnan incense traditions,
translating Quanzhou’s geography and heritage into two distinctive scents.
This year, as part of To the New Wind 2026, these two scents are reimagined for the first time as DOCUMENTS Breeze Parfum Collection — one, born between reefs and tides, speaking of distance and departure; one, settled within temples and time, lingering in quiet permanence.
