Ens fa molta il·lusió presentar el pòster oficial del DocsBarcelona 2026, obra de l’artista i fotògrafa Tanit Plana @tanitplana Una carta blanca a l’artista, que presenta una imatge que explora com el capitalisme tardà es configura com un sistema generador de runes visuals i objectes descartables. Extreta de la sèrie 'Corporate Melancholy' i creada en col·laboració amb una eina d’IA generativa, la imatge qüestiona la coherència del sistema. Una proposta visual que reforça l'aposta del festival per la transversalitat artística i el talent català. Gràcies infinites a totes les institucions i iniciatives que ho feu possible. Tanit Plana (Barcelona, 1975) ha exposat a La Virreina Centre de la Imatge i a la Sala Canal de Isabel II i ha rebut beques com Art for Change (Fundació "la Caixa") i Leonardo (BBVA). Taken from the series 'Corporate Melancholy' and created in collaboration with a generative AI tool, the image questions the coherence of the system. A visual proposal that reinforces the festival’s commitment to artistic transversality and catalan talent. Our deepest thanks to all the institutions and initiatives that make this possible. Tanit Plana (Barcelona, 1975) has exhibited at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge and Sala Canal de Isabel II, and has received grants such as Art for Change (Fundació “la Caixa”) and Leonardo (BBVA). Tonight, we celebrate the projects shaping the future of documentary filmmaking. After four intense days of Forum, Training and Market activities at DocsBarcelonaPro, documentary professionals from around the world come together for the awards ceremony to discover this year’s winning projects ⭐️

Towards an Ethical Standard for AI Use in Film, TV and Games Production ▫️Wednesday 13 May | 16:00 | CCCB Teatre In contemporary filmmaking, AI is no longer a distant tool: it can shapes everything from scriptwriting to post-production and marketing. Amid this transformation, questions of ethics and responsibility have become central Filmmaker Piotr Winniewicz (‘About a Hero’, 2024) explores, in a practical session, the creation of a standardized certification system to guide the ethical use of AI in audiovisual production. By providing a clear benchmark, the session aims to support filmmakers, studios, unions, and regulators in integrating AI technologies thoughtfully, ensuring creativity, transparency, and accountability remain at the heart of the process. Targeted at producers, creators, public institutions, and policymakers. @winiewicz

Europe needs cinema. Cinema needs Europe 🇪🇺 Thousands of cinema professionals, including prominent directors, authors, actors and industry leaders from across Europe and beyond have come together around this simple but urgent message: Europe needs cinema. Cinema needs Europe. They have signed an Open Letter calling on the European Commission, the European Parliament and Member States to preserve and reinforce the MEDIA programme as a major instrument of support for European independent cinema. For more than 35 years, MEDIA has helped European stories travel across borders supporting independent production, theatrical distribution, festivals, training, and a thriving audiovisual ecosystem across the continent. Today, that success story is under threat. As part of negotiations on the EU budget for 2028–2034, the European Commission proposes to integrate MEDIA into the new AgoraEU programme. While the overall budget may increase, the current proposal offers no guaranteed, dedicated funding for the film and audiovisual sector. The text remains vague with no assurance that the key actions that made MEDIA successful will continue. The open letter celebrates MEDIA’s role in promoting cultural diversity, artistic freedom, jobs, innovation and European soft power, and calls for the programme’s future to be secured and its resources reinforced.
