@do88performance wanted an intercooler for the Audi RS6 that could stay cool when the car is pushed hard again and again—including repeated pulls from 50–220 km/h (simulated controlled test). With the help of Garrett Motion, a custom bar-and-plate intercooler core was spec'd out and created to fit the RS6, while Do88 designing the end tanks and welding it into a complete unit with ducting. The new setup is larger and designed to let air flow through more easily, so it can cool the air better without “choking” the engine. In testing, they realized this helped keep the intake air much cooler—up to about 27°C cooler at the peak—so the car can keep making power as things heat up. When intake air temps climb, air density drops—and your ECU starts pulling timing/boost to protect the engine. That’s why intercooler core design matters just as much as turbo sizing: you’re not only chasing peak cooling, you’re chasing thermal stability under repeated load. Inside Garrett Intercooler Core Technology: ✅ Bar-and-plate construction for thermal mass + durability ✅ Advanced offset internal fin geometry to increase heat transfer efficiency ✅ Optimized fin density to balance cooling effectiveness with low pressure drop Real-World Test Data (do88 test data / Audi RS6 ~900 hp): • Peak post-IC temperature reduction: ~27°C • Average IAT reduced from ~43°C → ~32°C • More stable temps across repeated full-throttle pulls (less heat-soak “creep”) And it’s not just cooler—it flows more air at the same ΔP (example: ~378 vs ~327 CFM @ 0.10 bar / 1.45 psi, incl. hoses), meaning less restriction when you’re leaning on it pull after pull. This setup is ideal if you’re building for sustained pulls—track days, roll racing, or back-to-back dyno hits—thermal stability + controlled pressure drop is the recipe for repeatable power.
