Research for Territory of the Unsaid
This research focuses on the shoulders and back of movement artist Donna Kim—key sites where emotion is most clearly revealed. Her feelings are not merely shown through facial expressions or gestures, but through subtle tremors and movements that emerge from specific parts of the body, resonating as emotional vibrations beyond language. To capture this, the work layers multiple moments in time within a single photographic frame, transforming gestures into traces that hold the continuity of emotion and time.

Meet the Artist
Dohee Park is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the sensory and psychological dimensions of space. With a background in set design, she works across sculptural art, installation, and art direction. Her practice investigates how spaces organically expand and contract in response to shared emotional experiences.
Through careful experimentation with emotional interplay and spatial harmony, Dohee examines the relationships between people, objects, and their environments. Her work offers a visual inquiry into the possibilities and transformations of space, inviting viewers to reflect on how we collectively shape and are shaped by our surroundings.

Breath in Sight 2025 | Mixed media on wood and steel, 215 × 87 x44 (cm)
Breath is invisible, yet it carries weight. This work explores the finiteness of human existence and the anxiety that arises from it, revealing these emotions through the relationship between breath and the sight that observes it. The scale enables the perception of the physical presence and weight of breath, while the gaze on the monitor unveils its unseen essence, prompting reflection on the limits and anxieties of human existence. The movement of the body visually shapes the weight of breath, flowing with anxiety and tension. The scale, gaze, and movement are interconnected, offering the audience an opportunity to confront the existence of breath and the finiteness of human life, and to experience the emotion of anxiety in a new way.
