f e n c e s . nordbahnviertel wien, april 2026 📷 fotos daniel eberharter @dnlplus 🎞️ olympus superzoom 120 i recently got myself the very same camera i used when i got into photography for the first time. the original one was my dad’s and i borrowed it all the time until i forgot in a cab in glasgow in 1999. full with a roll of photos from a his hero is gone show, no less. ouch. 27 years later i finally figured out that these might still be around on the second hand market. so i got one, they’re still quite cheap, hint hint, and it‘s incredible to get these new pictures out of it. kinda mindblowing. the colours and the lighting are just so nice and it feels like muscle memory shooting with it — and this time i even know to change the batteries from time to time and clean the lens. anyway. this is to say: danke papa! gonna bring it next time as a surprise.

What is so memorable about this night for me is that this was probably the moment that solidified my love for independent music and being part of it with my camera as closely as I can. As you can see, I started taking pictures from the back within the crowd when I realised that I can actually get on the stage as well. It was unrestricted and open for everyone who wanted to be there as long as they respected everyone else. You can see the progress of me inching up towards and on the side of the stage. It blew my mind — which, amazingly, you can actually see here, too. Look closely in my photos and you can spot @instapatgraham behind Ian‘s amp. He shot a reverse angle with me in it by chance, I put that one in the last slide. I‘m the guy behind Guy with the white shirt and the huge smile. Thank you Pat, thank you Fugazi. Hardcore forever.

These photos were almost lost on a phantom roll 😮‍💨 but here they finally are! I couldn‘t move much in that packed and sweaty awesome show, so my vantage point was limited and, unlike some other photographers, I often hate being the jerk moving around and standing in everybody‘s way thinking they are very important 😏
