First Alpe Adria round at Grobnik 08.05-10.05.2026.
Arrived with no expectations.
Like a lamb walking politely into a room full of certified SBK psychopaths and world-level riders.
Qualifying.
P6 on the starting grid. Second row.
Against people who probably eat race fuel for breakfast.
Race 1.
Wrong tire choice.
From the very beginning, the tire, the Yamaha and I were behaving like three divorced people forced into therapy together.
Everything felt terrible, with absolutely no signs of improvement or hope for recovery.
Finished P4.
Technically because two riders ahead of me crashed out, but motorsport has never cared about feelings.
Sprint race.
Entering the race doubting myself after the result in Race 1.
Lights go out. Absolute madness. Dogs off the leash. Pure Moto3 style warfare.
One moment I am P5. Two corners later I am somehow P10.
At this point I genuinely start questioning physics, mathematics and possibly human civilization itself.
I decide to stop being a good guy and start attacking.
Pass rider after rider and fight back to P4. Which basically makes me first place among the financially damaged normal humans.
Race 2.
Another terrible start.
Another fight back toward the front.
One rider crashes ahead of me and suddenly I am in P3. Then comes the longest 8 laps of my recent life. Three extremely fast riders directly behind me. Breathing on my neck every corner.
For 8 laps I defended that podium position with
my soul, my body, my mind, and whatever mental stability I still had left. I broke mentally. Completely.
I gave up five times during that race.
But every single time, I gave up on giving up.
And somehow… I held the podium.
Standing on the podium next to Yari Montella and Michal Filla creates mix of feelings, but the strongest one is pride! 💪🏻

For me, riding has always been more than competition. It’s the one place where everything else disappears for a moment, a mental reset.
Whatever comes out of it comes from hard work, discipline, and willpower.

1:27.8 at Grobnik to start the season after 6 months away from the bike.
My hand is still recovering, and I’m still adapting to the new setup, so there’s still more to find.
A few laps with the YART world champions were a great benchmark and a good reminder of the level.
A positive start.
