Best Editing Award for "Milen - A Documentary" by the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers! The award, of course, I dedicate to Milen himself, without whose extraordinary life this film would not exist, and it is as much for me, as it is for the partner in crime, Veselin Dimanov, as well as Angel Ivanov, Krassimir Stoyanov and Milen's family, friends and colleagues who supported the project. Thank you!
Man, what a month! I didn't even get the chance to upload the photos from the premiere of "Milen - a Documentary". For me, the opportunity to direct a feature film about the life of a journalist such as Milen Tsvetkov, together with Veselin Dimanov, is more than an honor and a dream come true. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity. The full Hall 1 of NDK and the feedback from the cinema distribution give me hope that we have taken an important step to ensure that Milen's story is never forgotten. My wish for myself and the crew is that the film will live on to remind us to fight for democracy and freedom of speech and to never stop asking questions - "because that's how it's done".
When @veselin.dimanov came to me with the idea of making a film about Milen Tsvetkov 1 year ago, I couldn't have imagined the scale on which this project would unfold. To have the honour of co-directing a film, which explores the theme of freedom of speech through a deeply personal story, and to be responsible, together with Vesko, for it conveying the character of a journalist like Milen, is a dream come true in every possible aspect. I believe we managed to be true and authentic to Milen's story both personally and professionally. Now all that remains is for you to come to the premiere to experience it for yourself.
