Had the chance to meet the artist JR yesterday. If you don’t know his work look him up! Incredibly thoughtful artist who uses his work to make a difference. Really powerful.
Hard to believe that it has been a full year since one of the most life changing events that our family has ever experienced. There have been many things we learned from enduring this tragedy but none more impactful than the incredible resilience of our small family. While we will never recover so much of what was lost, we have never felt more fortunate to have each other and we are focused on the future. Fingers crossed we will be back on this beautiful site early next year.
Very sad news today from Kenya of the death of this amazing creature. Craig was one of an estimated 25-30 remaining “Super Tusker” elephants. Dying at 54 years old of natural causes he fortunately was able to live a very full life due to the incredible protection and conservation efforts of the Rangers and the local people of Amboseli. Our family was very fortunate to visit Kenya last summer and on our last day in Amboseli we were able to spend an hour with Craig as he got on with his day. He was an icon, a Rockstar among the wildlife of Africa, and an unforgettable symbol of the power of these magnificent creatures to capture our imagination.
