Fixity - 'NEEDSMUST' Music Video, 2026 [Full video @ link in bio] 🚨*WATCH AT 4K RESOLUTION*🚨 Here are two short clips from the newly released music video for 'NEEDSMUST' from Fixity's newly released and savage new album 'Assurance.' This is my third visual outing with Fixity and with each video I feel like there's been a development in the relationship to the form, each one approaching live video production in a different way - progressively less automated and more performed. In the time since the last video for 'Always Again' in 2022, @danwalshdoesdrum invited me to perform live with the band in a musical capacity on two occasions when playing in Berlin. I think that informed how I approached this new video; the articulations of all effects are performed in a live take. Through the Cork Improvised Music Club and our other collaborative project with @kallgeese - 'Not Earth' - Dan has been a pivotal influence on my approach to improvisation in music making, which has bled Into many other aspects of life, so I'm grateful to continue this visual collab series with Fixity. @berlinatonal appreciation post. Such a strong sense of narrative weaves itself through these five days, each performance with its own distinct visual identity, each placed in sequence with such deliberate dramaturgical consideration - and the progression of each consecutive day with the same intention, shifting dynamically between minimalist and maximalist aesthetics, between austerity and beauty. I am always grateful for the profound feelings of collective experience that I come away from Atonal with; of awe and wonder at ambitous scale on the one hand and everyday banalaties on the other, foregrounded and heightened to the point of poignancy. I am also grateful for the challenges and alienations throughout: for the sharp light thrown on the things in my own life that I am avoiding and that need addressing. I am reminded of why Atonal caused me to decide to move to Berlin after first attending in 2016. It really is a testament to and celebration of the best of what Berlin is. I can only hope that the city and Germany at large can again continue to rise to meet the standards it sets with brilliant endeavours such as this. 'Attack On Disney', 14.02.2025 Exercise in copyright infringement. Inspired by 'Disarming Corruptor' from @plummerfernandez I recall a talk at the @arselectronica in 2014 where he detailed how he increasingly deformed an STL file of Mickey Mouse until it was just unrecognisable enough as to evade copyright and have it legally 3D-printed. Mickey Mouse has since entered public domain. @disney and its subsidiary @marvel play a significant role in the whitewashing and legitimisation of Israel's apartheid regime, and they are among the most prominent conglomerates on the BDS list. Boycott Disney, cancel your Disney+ subscription if you have one. Don't feed the monster. All things considered, I had way too much fun making this; sat laughing to myself for an hour, sampling things from the headphone output back into ableton.
