🇺🇾 Colonia del Sacramento, 21.-22.6.24 🇺🇾
Although we did not have the sunniest weather, the colonial harbour town appeared very colourful.
1 The old pier made of wood, situated a little outside of town
2 Larry standing in front of the old town wall which leads to the Río de la Plata, the river Colonia touches
3 La Automaceta - two oldtimers filled with plants in an artsy street in the old town
4 The view from our walk on the rambla between the plaza de toros and Colonia
5 La plaza de toros, an old bull fighting arena which was only in use for three seasons in the early 19th century

7 Enjoying a mate service and getting tips how to prepare it there
8 Colonia is famous for its Calle de Suspiros - one of the earliest streets and therefore formerly filled with pubs and brothels
9 Galleta de campaña being one of the many tasteful pasteries in Uruguay (so far, the people in South America often use dough in their dishes)
10 Like every harbour town, Colonia has its lighthouse. What makes this one special is the old town wall being attached to it

🇪🇸 Spanien - 12.-17. Juni 2024 🇪🇸
Part 2/2
Weil es keine Direktflüge nach Montevideo gab, starteten wir unsere Reise in Spanien und besuchten dort Dömes Verwandte in Granada und Madrid.
In Granada ging es jeweils zu Fuss ins Stadtzentrum, wo uns Tapas erwarteten. Auf dem Weg genossen wir die Schönheit der Natur und des Flusses Genil. Wir verbrachten auch eine Nacht in Noalejo, eine halbe Stunde nördlich von Granada (wo wir bei @ viele Tierfotos schossen). Natürlich gab es auch da - nebst den Olivenbäumen - wieder Tapas.
Nach einer fünfstündigen Carfahrt nach Madrid besuchten wir die feria de Moratalaz, inkl. Feuerwerk. Nachdem wir weitere Verwandte besuchten, ging es zum Flughafen, wo wir nach mehreren Gatewechseln und etwas Stress endlich unseren Flieger nach Montevideo boardeten. 12 Stunden später (die wir schlafend und Serien schauend verbrachten) landeten wir in Südamerika.
