Just returned from a 7-day golf trip to Wisconsin with 12 guys, where we played some fantastic golf courses. We started at the North Hills Country Club in Milwaukee, then Erin Hills, before heading to to Sand Valley where we played the SVGC, Mammoth Dunes, and the 17-hole par three course, the Sand Box. We finished up in Kohler where we played the Straits and Irish courses at Whistling Straits, the River, Meadows, and 10-hole par three course at Blackwolf Run.
I did not realize how much I had missed this sort of fellowship with by good friends, not just the golf but also the social bonding and camaraderie that comes with being together with a great group of people every day, for as much as 18 hours at a time.
Three-day member-guest at Washington Golf and Country Club, with my good friend #stewartverdery. The course was in fantastic shape, especially considering the considerable amount of rain on Thursday and Friday that shortened the event to a two-day event. Never a dull moment when golfing with Stewart.
First round of the year yesterday, dedicated to Charlie Verdery who passed away last week. Thought of Charlie throughout a sunny 65 degree day in CT, and, in his honor, wore this shirt that I bought 20 years ago, when I played The River, Charlie's course in SC with his son, Stewart Verdery. R.I.P. Charlie.
Before Cypress there was Pebble. This time, Ted and I were joined by the lovely and talented @annarawson . Great friends. Great golf course. #dekepeekexperience
Just back from a fantastic day at Cypress Point Club with my good friend Ted Chervin. I even got up and down for par on number 16! Yeah, it was on my second ball, but it happened. #dekepeekexperience
2019 Williams College Alumni-Guest
An outstanding three days as the guest of my good friend and #uvalaw classmate Stewart Verdery. We came in second! #taconicgolfclub #dekepeekexperience
A special day of golf at Golf International Des Bordes. We were treated like members at a club founded by a Baron. A truly exceptional level of service...
A perfect weather day at Shinnecock with John and Ryan Byrnes, and our gracious member host, Sue Suscy. Even randomly ran into my UVA Law classmate, Doug Eckert! #bucketlistgolf #dekepeekexperience
Interestingly, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, one of the most exclusive courses in the world, has a public road that runs right through the course, thus allowing me to scout out the terrain last night, ahead of today's bucket list round!
