This is the incomparable Elizabeth Gilbert aka Lizzy. Following on the heels of her post today, this was a reunion shoot of sorts. Twenty years ago I photographed my sun-kissed friend fresh from her Eat Pray Love adventures for a little shoot (mostly chatting!) for her book cover. Neither of us knew that she had written a book that was about to shove a load of fireworks into her career and life.

As we get older, especially as women, it is important to curate your friendships and surround yourself with those that lift you up and hold a mirror up to you with the sheer example of how they see the world and treat others. Lizzy, I know few people kinder and just by being your friend, I know I can’t be too bad myself.
