So grateful to have been able to spend a quick weekend celebrating the Olelo Hawai'i Moana 2. Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who showed up despite the rain and wind. If you weren't able to make it, it is now available on @disneyplus Thank you to my friends, the Olelo Hawai'i directors @tysanga and Lāiana Kanoa-Wong for letting me share a few words that Ive also shared below: I am honored and humbled to share our film in this very special way.Ā  Moana 2 is a story about connection — a reminder that the ocean is not what divides us but what brings us together.Ā  Moana has been that bridge for so many of us. She is a hero that has resonated around the world — billions know her name and because of that — many who had little to no knowledge about us, the people of the Pacific, have a new understanding of not only who we are, but what we are capable of. The ingenuity of our ancestors, the continued strength in our communities…  The idea that Moana, a character inspired by the histories of our ancestors but born of imagination can have such a massive impact on the world is a daily reminder that our stories are not only worthy of being told, they are worthy of celebration and have the power to unite. I am so incredibly proud to be a part of this journey. And I’m even prouder to get to watch this story grow and expand. This translation into Olelo Hawaii is the pinnacle of art meeting culture. This story that has meant so much to so many is given new power, new meaning and new connection by retelling it in a language that has been passed between generations for centuries, fought for and given new life. In this translation, Moana transcends the imagination and becomes a part of the history of Olelo Hawaii to be shared for generations to come. And I hope serves as an inspiration to you all that there are no limits to how far you can go.

"They can strip us of our funding. They can underestimate us. They can try to tell us that we're not enough, but we know the truth! We know, like Moana, that no matter the storms ahead, we will never stop discovering the depths of our courage, the strength of our communities and not just our value, but our worth!" - @dledouxm Congratulations to the #Moana2 team for winning the Best in Film Award at @capeusa 's 3rd Annual Radiance Gala, celebrating the brilliance of Asian and Pacific Islander women and non-binary artists. PEAK Co-Founder Dana Ledoux Miller took the stage with an inspiring speech, celebrating our Pasifika heritage, the stories that connect us, and the unstoppable spirit that drives us forward. #WeAreMoana #CAPEradiance #RadianceGala #PEAKPasifika #Moana2 ( šŸŽ„ : courtesy of @dfatuesi )
