Today’s Advanced Voice Acting class had the honor of learning from Portia Scott: a Los Angeles–based voiceover agent and Director of Voiceover at Coast to Coast Talent Group.
With over 25 years in the industry, she’s known for representing top talent across animation, commercials, and narration, with credits tied to major films like Pinocchio, Toy Story 4, and Into the Spider-Verse.
She gave us real insight into what agents actually look for and what it takes to be industry ready, beyond just having talent.

On March 26-29, Professor Price and our classmate, Mason Williams represented the Morehouse Voice Acting Program at VO Atlanta, one of the top voiceover conferences in the country.
From learning from legends like Rob Paulsen, Portia Scott, and countless other industry professionals to making valuable connections in the voiceover space, the experience gave us even more insight into what it takes to succeed in this industry.
Moments like this remind us that our program is about more than class, it’s about real preparation, real exposure, and real opportunity.

Today we had the one and only @garyanthonywilliams , an exceptional actor known for roles as Abe Kenarban in Malcolm in the Middle, Riff Tamson, in Star Wars the Clone Wars, Smart Brother in Undercover, Clarence Bell in Boston Legal, Uncle Ruckus in The Boondocks (yes he did the voice) and too many to count. We thank him for the opportunity to speak and impart funny words and wisdom to our class.

Today, two guest speakers made their presence known in class:
- Keyon Williams, a voice actor in pop culture and media, known for his work with NBC’s the Today Show, and projects such as Transformers, has contributed his voice for almost 15 years to several commercials with Footlocker, Pepsi, WE TV and more.
- Ishmael Williams, a writer, editor and producer, as well as an alum of Clark Atlanta University, also with 15 years of experience in the multimedia industry.
We sincerely appreciate the both of you for your insight, advice and your story on how you became successful in your careers.
