🔪 Knife Community Corner – Where passion meets people The Knife Community Corner was created by and for knife enthusiasts — a place to connect, share our passion, and build new friendships. As some wise Germans once said: You come for the knives and stay for the people.” And that’s exactly what Saturday is all about. 🙌 To keep things fair, fun, and respectful for everyone — especially our exhibitors — we’ve set a few guidelines when it comes to selling or trading knives in the Corner. The Knife Community Corner is NOT intended to be a flea market or large-scale selling space. If you’d like to sell larger quantities of knives or your full collection, please apply via our website to become an official (paid) exhibitor. That said, we get it — sometimes you want to sell a knife to fund your next one 😉. That’s perfectly fine within the spirit of the Corner. Please follow these rules for selling/trading: * All knives must comply with Dutch law * All sales are at your own responsibility/risk — we are not liable * Maximum of 1–2 knives per person * No displaying on the tables * Knives must be transported properly packed * 18+ only Let’s make it an amazing day together — full of passion, great conversations, and of course… awesome knives. 🔥 Oh and.. our friends @knivesandtools kindly sponsored a couple decks of their new card game KaTO to be played at the Knife Community Corner, how cool is that! See you Saturday and may the best one win. KaTO!!🃏

Christ is Risen! On this joyful occasion, we are proud to share an important achievement: a board member of our Association and distinguished maker, Mr. Gocha Laghidze, has once again achieved a remarkable success on the international stage. At the knife exhibition held in the Netherlands, DKE (Dutch Knife Exhibition), he was awarded his 12th Grand Prix, once again highlighting his professionalism and the high level of Georgian craftsmanship. 🔪 Meet the Maker: Rasch-messer @raschmesser Rafael is a knife maker from Münster, Germany, with over a decade of experience in the craft. What started as a simple desire to own a good knife quickly turned into a long term passion and profession. For more than ten years, Rafael has been dedicated to making knives, constantly refining his skills and developing his own approach to design and craftsmanship. His work reflects a focus on performance, precision, and a deep understanding of what makes a knife truly reliable. One of his proudest achievements is publishing his own book on knife sharpening, sharing his knowledge and helping others get the most out of their blades. In addition, he gained international recognition by winning first prize at the Solingen Knife Awards 2022 with his Bowie knife design, a milestone that highlights both his skill and creative vision. Rafael looks forward to meeting visitors at his stand during this year’s DKE. Be sure to stop by, discover his work, and have a chat about knives and craftsmanship.

🔪 Meet the Maker: Dutch Bushcraft Knives @dbkbushcraft Dutch Bushcraft Knives is the creation of two best friends, Mikkie B and Maarten, who have built a strong following through their YouTube channel dedicated to honest and authentic knife testing. With a healthy dose of humor, they’ll be the first to tell you that Mikkie is clearly the funnier one, while Maarten confidently carries the title of being the better looking. Together, they form a unique duo on a mission to find “knife justice”… and ultimately, the perfect knife. Since 2013, their journey has been driven by an unstoppable curiosity and passion for blades. What started as a search for the ultimate knife has turned into more than a decade of testing, reviewing, and sharing their experiences with a loyal audience. And despite all those years, the “perfect knife” remains just out of reach, keeping the adventure very much alive. What they are most proud of isn’t just their knowledge or the knives they’ve handled, but their consistency and friendship. For over 13 years, they have released a new video every single Thursday, no matter what life threw at them. Through ups and downs, they’ve kept each other laughing and turned their shared passion into something truly special, not just work, but work built on friendship. In addition to their content, Dutch Bushcraft Knives also offer a selection of products they genuinely stand behind, gear designed to last and perform. And if you ask them, buying their products might just improve your life by at least one point on average. Their message to visitors? Come by, have a laugh, check out their gear, and yes, maybe take something home. Not just because it supports them, but because you might be surprised by the quality… and who knows, it might even bring a smile (or a happy tear) to your face. Be sure to stop by their stand, meet Mikkie in person (Yes… Maarten needed to plan his proposal holiday to Japan on this bloody date), and experience the humor, honesty, and passion that define Dutch Bushcraft Knives.

🔪 Meet the Maker: Dr. Bernd Balke @berndbalke Dr. Bernd Balke, a former physician in the German Armed Forces, is based near Bonn, Germany. What began as a personal quest has grown into a full-time passion: for the past ten years, Bernd has been working as a knife maker, and for the last three years he has dedicated himself fully to the craft. His journey into knifemaking started with disappointment, but also determination. Many years ago, Bernd designed a knife based on his own ideas and commissioned a custom maker to bring it to life. The result, however, fell far short of his expectations. When he was told that it simply couldn’t be made any better, Bernd decided to take matters into his own hands. That moment marked the beginning of his path as a knife maker. Today, his work is driven by creativity and a deep appreciation for artistic expression. For Bernd, knifemaking is not just about function, it is about beauty and joy. This philosophy is at the heart of everything he creates. A highlight in his journey came in 2025, when he was awarded the prestigious “Best Art Knife” prize at the Dutch Knife Exhibition, a recognition of his unique and artistic approach to the craft. Bernd looks forward to the DKE with great enthusiasm and is excited to meet fellow knife enthusiasts, share his work, and connect over a shared passion.

🔪 Meet the Maker: JKBlacksmith @jk.blacksmith Jelmer Kruithof, the maker behind JKBlacksmith, is a 26 year old knife maker from Drenthe, the Netherlands. Alongside his work as a mechanical engineer, he has developed a strong passion for knifemaking, focusing primarily on kitchen knives while also crafting outdoor blades. His journey into metalworking began around ten years ago, starting small with just a file and an angle grinder. As his interest grew, he moved into forging, quickly finding his way toward knives and tools. What continues to inspire Jelmer is the fascinating world of material science behind blades, combined with the almost limitless artistic freedom the craft offers. Jelmer takes great pride in his first Damascus knife a milestone piece that marked his growth as a maker. He gifted it to a close friend who had supported him from the very beginning, making it not only a technical achievement but also a deeply personal one. Through JKBlacksmith, Jelmer brings together engineering precision and creative expression, resulting in knives that are both functional and unique. Visitors are warmly invited to stop by his stand, discover his work, and talk about the craft that continues to drive him forward.
