Last week, I had the please of hopping down to @thespiritedofficial to take some pics at @socialinthecity_ first event event!
You honestly couldn’t tell it was their first event from how packed the venue was (kudos to the girls!)
The night was made even more enjoyable through @madebymimzzz mixes on the decks🕺
Overall, was a good experience. Definitely more confident with using flash now (that shit is so bright and not subtle at all hahaha)

I’ve avoided reading books for a hot minute since my brain was fried from staring at my phone during the lockdown. That all changed once I finally gave a book a chance (definitely not because TikTok was deafening my ears with an ample amount of videos recommending it to me); that book being Mistborn.
I was instantly hooked. Mistborn, completed in 2 weeks, Well of Ascension, a month because I was busy, and finally Hero of Ages, 3 weeks.
Cinema. That is all.
Highly recommend adding it to your TBR (yes, I’m in on the booktok lingo now).
On to finishing the Greenbone Saga by Fonda Lee, while also picking up Brandon’s next work in the cosmere, Elantris and Arcanum Unbounded!

Yap & Munch
What started off being a reflection on what I ate throughout April, quickly became a reflection on how food can be a medium to connect with friends and family.
As someone who grew up in an environment where everyone was busy, and the only time we’d eat as a family would be weekends—if no one was busy—or celebrations, meal times were often spent alone. It might sound weird to others, but that’s just how it worked out. I kind of enjoyed it as it allowed me to chill in my own space and catch up on tv.
However, I had forgotten over time that so much gets discussed at the dinner table that you wouldn’t possibly hear while eating in your room. So although this zine is all over the place, it was nice to look back at each picture and remember the shared memories created from each meal.

On a side note, this was going to be a very complicated project that created in my head and in classic fashion of what I normally do, I procrastinated and ended up not touching it for 2 weeks.
But a wise person once told me to “cut your darlings” which translates to ‘keep the core of your idea and cut away any extra bits”. Having gone through that process, I remembered the goal of these zines were to just make something. Something to keep those creative juices flowing as I work away at my corporate design job (which I’m slowly becoming to tolerate).
Let’s see how this process goes for the next piece of media I create🤝

I’ve recently gotten into drinking coffee but it has to be with oat milk ( blame lactose intolerance and the fact it just tastes better). So when I walked up to the barista and they told me they they had ran out of oat milk, I was presented with 2 options: regular milk or no coffee…I chose the first and knew I’d have regrets.
