Während Schmidt und Nils im Wohnzimmer den fatalen Deal abwickeln, erkundet Alice die Wohnung und macht einige strange Entdeckungen, die später noch hilfreich sein werden. Hierfür wurden Flur und ein Kinderzimmer komplett leergeräumt, gestrichen und mit Requisiten umgestaltet.
Fun Fact: Nach dem Dreh mussten wir alles wieder zurückstreichen. Vielen Dank an @profitec.de für die hochwertige Innenraumfarbe, die das möglich gemacht hat.
While Schmidt and Nils handle the fateful deal in the living room, Alice explores the apartment and makes some strange discoveries that will come in handy later.
For these scenes, the hallway and a children’s room were completely cleared out, repainted, and redecorated with props.
Fun fact: After shooting, we had to paint everything back.

Der Cast von PICOBELLO kommt aus Mainz und Frankfurt am Main. Die Crew fast vollständig aus Rheinland-Pfalz und dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Unser DOP @seanlovelace_dp hat in seinem Department für ein paar exotische Ausnahmen gesorgt. Unser 1.AC @berlintino reiste aus Berlin an und unser 2.AC aus der Schweiz. Our cast comes from Mainz and Frankfurt.
Most of the crew is based in Rhineland-Palatinate and the Rhine-Main area. But our DOP Sean introduced a few exotic exceptions to his department. Our 1st AC Tino traveled in from Berlin — and our 2nd AC came all the way from Switzerland. From shooting day to shooting day, more and more Schwiizerdütsch found its way into the calls. Can you hear the difference?

Nach 8 Wochen knirschiger Location-Suche lag die Lösung quasi um die Ecke: In Daniels Heimatort Norheim fanden wir ein leerstehendes Häuschen – das wir ausräumen, streichen und umbauen durften. Und das mussten wir auch, denn wenn die Figuren das Hauptset betraten, sollte sich dieses anfühlen wie eine fremde, aus der Zeit gefallene Welt – selbst für Nils, der Alice und Schmidt hineinlässt.
Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Jan & Leni für dieses großartige Szenenbild. Und an die Produktion mit Felix, Jan & Richard, die Teppiche verlegt, Wände gestrichen und mit uns Möbel geschleppt haben. 🎬✨
After 8 weeks of gritty location scouting, the solution turned out to be right around the corner: in Daniel’s hometown of Norheim, we found an empty little house — one we were allowed to clear out, repaint, and completely transform. And we had to. When the characters enter the main set, it was meant to feel like a foreign, out-of-time world — even for Nils, who lets Alice and Schmidt in. A huge thank you to Jan & Leni for this outstanding production design. And to the production team — Felix, Jan & Richard — who laid carpets, painted walls, and carried furniture with us every step of the way. 🎬✨

PICOBELLO begann winzig klein. Plötzlich standen wir zwischen fragilen Glas-Practicals, einer Gottesanbeterin als Komparsin und einem Stunt-Coordinator – this escalated quickly. In der Rückschau hätten wir auf niemanden verzichten können. PICOBELLO started out tiny. And then - out of nowhere - we found ourselves surrounded by fragile glass practicals, a praying mantis making her debut as an extra, and a stunt coordinator. This escalated quickly. Looking back, we wouldn’t want to miss a single one of them. Here’s the official group photo from our final shooting day, featuring many (but not all) of the ridiculously talented cast and crew.

A glimpse into the secret tent where the @ddregieduo monitored everything.
Only our actors and department heads were allowed access. We were able to talk privately, exchange ideas, discuss necessary adjustments, but most of the time we held our breath when the camera started rolling.
One of the best experiences of our career. Many thanks to @einfach_nur_justus our innovative DIT. He came up with the idea of a wireless streaming solution. A huge advantage, as it meant that even the blockers could see what we were filming.
Stephan Arnold (our main man from the city of Oppenheim) had access to all areas, so he visited us in the tent on the first of two days of production and took some photos.
