Artista en residencia | Mayetta Steier Creo piezas cerámicas funcionales y escultóricas que dialogan con el niñx interior que habita en todxs nosotrxs. Mi trabajo se inspira en la creatividad sin límites de la infancia, en las caricaturas y juguetes que me marcaron, y en la alegría de los colores vibrantes y las líneas gráficas. Últimamente he estado reflexionando sobre la idea de los espacios sagrados y cómo distintas comunidades los definen. Para mí, la alegría y el juego son sagrados. Siento una profunda responsabilidad de cultivar la alegría a través de mi trabajo—especialmente en un mundo atravesado por el duelo. Mis piezas buscan entrelazar lo lúdico con lo sagrado, creando espacios donde la alegría pueda sentirse y compartirse. — I create functional and sculptural ceramic pieces that speak to the inner child in all of us. My work is inspired by the boundless creativity of childhood, the cartoons and toys I loved, and the joy I found in bright colors and graphic lines. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the idea of sacred spaces and how different communities define them. To me, joy and play are sacred. I feel a deep responsibility to cultivate joy through my work—especially in a world filled with grief. My pieces aim to blend silliness with sacredness, creating spaces where joy is both felt and shared.
