To say I’m blown away would be an understatement. Getting asked to create a mix for Apple Music’s ‘Today’s Hits’ series honestly left me a bit speechless.
It’s been a crazy, surreal journey. What started in 2008 as me messing around with mashups in my tiny uni bedroom, bootlegging acapellas and disco loops together on an old laptop, became packed-out covid sit-down parties in 2020 when the world needed music more than ever. Then came bigger events, festival sets and underground nights from 2021 onwards, hundreds of releases through Bandcamp, a small but beautifully loyal following…
And then last year it all came crashing down. Banned and blocked from platforms, losing my audience database and I genuinely considered packing it in for good.
But the mashups never leave you. I made the call to leave home, rebrand as Touch Of Funk, move countries, and take one last swing at this dream.
This mix, made for one of the biggest platforms in the world, is proof that you should never, ever give up on the thing that makes you feel alive.
Thank you to every single person who’s ever played, shared, or danced to my tracks. This one’s for you.
