I still remember the first time I witnessed @djtopspeed do this in person. Birdy’s, 2006 or 07. My mind was blown at the accuracy of him recreating “99 Problems” with nothing more than his hands, wax and the trusty 909 mixer. (Sorry about the audio not lining up. Old vid.)
See, records inevitably make you work harder. They don’t always cooperate. Mistakes are simply a part of the experience. But there is something that just feels so true and honest about playing vinyl. Is it better? I’ll let you guys debate that. "Tit-For Tat" it is a Merry Christmas for me! I buy you one, you buy me one! This was reissued in '88 from a store that I went into twice before finally closing. Goin' up to get the goods was the move. Some, like myself, believed that this was a boot but only to be found very officially done by Downstairs Records and the Fraternity label based out of Cincinnati! Peace to Victor Piagneri for that information.
I remember purchasing the 12" reissues in Chicago in 2003 to play at Scribble Jam like the version you're hearing. I hope to find "Midnight Theme" someday.
