SHADOWLAND is Lancaster’s monthly dark alternative dance ritual where @djstygian and guest DJs from near and far dare you to shake off that boring human suit and unleash your inner monster. We’re running it back a bit for Stygian’s final silly birthday celebration by inviting both @blushplaysmusic AND @dave__ghoul back to copilot!! Our dance familiars are powerhouse gogo duo @n38u14 and @leg_queen , plus beloved party pal and Muppet @charlie.grae on photos! Genres range from darkwave, EBM, goth, and industrial to dark/alt pop, electro, phonk, post punk, synthwave, and so, so much more. SPiLL is an unstructured third space and social with one goal: curate a space to do queer joy (and sometimes pet cats) free from judgment. We provide the space, a few games, and tunes; you provide stuff to do, be it solo, with others, or as chill parallel play! Social runs 6 - 9PM (nice) on Tuesday, 5/19 in @westartlanc 's second-floor Sanctuary. I host and curate a playlist featuring dance pop, disco and other upbeat/chill vibes at a level that allows folks to chat, share skills, or vibe! -Not sure what you can bring? Here are some ideas: zine/collage supplies, relatively not-messy art stuff, kandi materials, games, knitting/felting/quilting, yoga mats, etc. -Simply want to show up? Please do! Bring your Switch, your current crochet project, or word search/sudoku/crossword that's been giving you trouble. We'll have hot water and a variety of teas on hand in addition to our pals downstairs @westartbar slingin' all kinds of joy - NA, A, hot, cold, and even food!! Do you hear that? It’s the return of the Shadowland Spooky Swap on Saturday, 5/16 12-4 PM! Hang @zoetropolis , spend some (slightly less loud) time with your Shadowland fam, AND refresh your wardrobe, altar, or library at the same time! Wanna add to the swap? Contributions can include: -clothes -shoes -witchy/occult tchotchkes, ephemera, and décor -books -nerdy/horror swag Donations in clean, undamaged, and/or wearable condition are encouraged - NOT required - to participate! We divide clothes by tops/bottoms/longs and a few other helpful categories to start. This event is FREE TO ATTEND /and/ we encourage you to come hungry and/or thirsty since @zoetropolis ’s kitchen and bars will be open. That said: a suggested cash donation of $5 is appreciated, not required. This is an all ages event.
