Llora and I have been planning a lil party for quite some time now. We had a chance to play records together last year and really meshed well, selection wise. After a few hangs, brainstorming, mixing and scheming — hi-gloss was birthed.
Prepare yourselves for an array of sounds next Thursday, April 30th at Charlie’s Star Lounge.
Deep, moody, driving, soulful, voguey, hypnotic… come to dance!
Seeing as I received a lot of responses from my concert ticket stories, I felt like scanning some other treasures I unearthed whilst cleaning yesterday. Some might say I’m a packrat, but I’d argue I’m an organized archivist 😉
1. Some stand out concerts over the years. AAC was 13 days old when Sade performed there!
2. My aunt Donna got me subscription to Thrasher every year for Christmas. Had this renewal envelope tucked away for decades.
3. My favorite poster flat ever of my top stylish group of all time *next to the B-52s* Infinity Within!
4. Dealer badges from the Austin Record convention. Back when my friend Joe and I were buying up collections.
5. Jamiroquai post card promoting - Synkronozed
6. Die cut, actual scale Nokia promo. I think I grabbed this to take photos looking like I had a phone. Who knows.
7. More ticket stubs from 1999 - OutKast right here in Oak Cliff & Les Nubians at Caravan Of Dreams.
8. Hand written requests go a lot further. 2007 - Fallout Lounge
My love for sharing music is just about equal to how much I enjoy playing it. Hearing that some of you Shazam’d a heap of songs from last Saturday’s set made my night. So I put together a physical playlist for Contour with some favorites from the evening.
Grab a copy from a table, the bar, or the listening room. I’ll also have a stack in the booth on the 25th.
Enjoy! 📝
Thank you to everyone who came out to @shyboy.hifi this past Saturday for Contour.
This night was a long time coming, and the energy lived up to the wait. With over 1,700 RSVPs, it somehow still felt intimate all night long. It was amazing to see so much support and so many dance moves!
I loved spinning records I hadn’t touched in years on a sound system that really lets them breathe. I was so locked in, I didn’t even glance at my watch or pick up my phone. Time truly flies when you’re having fun, and I was reminded why I started DJing in the first place.
I’m so excited to keep shaping the Contour experience! If you’re into eclectic dance grooves, looking for dynamic club sounds mixed in with some rare gems, make sure to pop by Shyboy every last Saturday of the month.

LA, you were fabulous✨
Here’s a heap of photos taken with my new camera.
Bikes, tacos, walks, 99 cent store install & shenanigans.
Thanks to @instantrudeboy for hosting me and to @maxvmaxv for having me play at @darlingbyseanbrock 🫶🏻
Until next time!
This Valentine’s Day — Saturday, Feb 14 — New York heavy hitter Justin Strauss slides into Dallas.
If you collect ’80s records, there’s a good chance you own a 12” remixed by Strauss and an even better chance you’ve danced to one.
With over 300 vinyl releases, the Brooklyn-born DJ and producer’s stats are stacked.
From his band Milk ’N’ Cookies to residencies at NYC staples like Area and The Ritz - where ’80s icons from Prince and Talking Heads to the Beastie Boys and Depeche Mode played, Justin was there.
A card-carrying member of Paradise Garage, with collaborations spanning Tina Turner, Erasure, Sinéad O’Connor, 808 State, and more, Justin has lived every era of New York nightlife.
Last year, Justin and I played a B2B at the Tiki Disco after-party at Gabriella, one of my favorite nights all year. We’re excited to bring that energy to Bishop Arts this Saturday at @ladylovedallas 💘
Thanks to @jambaloolive for helping make this happen, and to 2026 “Best DJ Venue” winner Ladylove for giving us a unique space to dance our pain away.

Grateful to be included in @bredastudio ’s evening surrounded by kindred spirits and fellow creatives 💫
Also grateful for my nephew @camronfinney
It’s been a pleasure watching this dude grow up and become such an amazing human & talented force. He reminds me a lot of myself at his age. Always excited to dig deeper, learn more and be a true individual.
Tell your people you love them ❤️
Here’s a few images documenting the last couple of months ✨
I took up running exactly a month ago. Inspired by my good friend @arturodraws ’ motivation, consistency and updates - I asked if I could join him on an afternoon run and I’ve been going every other day since. Although I’m just a beginner in this new hobby, I’m excited about the journey!
