9 years ago today, I brought one of my favorite rappers of all time to my hometown of Waterbury
He went bowling and he ate fried Ravioli.
Then he had to perform but instead of rapping on the stage he said “nah Semi I’m gonna sit at the bar and spit monkey bars”
And that’s exactly what he did. Rapped in front of his diehard fans while sipping Henny and a Heineken.
Little did we all know, he’d pass away just 3 months later. I wish I had more time to build with him. But I am thankful for the day I got to have with him. We talked about campy horror movies, smoked Newports, and he played me his unreleased music. He was one of the funniest, nicest mfs I’ve ever met in this rap thing.
Rest in Peace, Barbarian.
