After a weekend that left me questioning my craft, I’ll admit the nerves were high heading into Bevin and Vanika’s big day. With 260 guests—the biggest wedding I’ve tackled to date—the pressure was on to deliver.
From the high-energy entrance with the Dhol drummer leading the groom to the Mandap, to the cinematic moment the newlyweds drove off in their classic Mercedes, every detail was pure magic. But for me, the real magic happened when the beat dropped.
The dance floor didn’t just stay busy; it was packed all night long.
Coming off the back of a tough gig, I really needed this win. This Easter weekend marathon reminded me why I do what I do. It was a weekend of growth, great people, and a massive reminder that every “off” night is just a setup for an even bigger comeback.

Real Talk: The Highs, the Lows, and Stephanie & Frasat’s Wedding
Stephanie and Frasat’s two-day celebration at Vrede en Lust was a stunning blend of SA and UK vibes. Day one kicked off with a vibrant pre-wedding Mendhi, leading into a beautiful wedding day at one of the most iconic estates in the valley.
This one was a unique experience for me—since Steph’s family is in production and sound, I got to step away from the rig and just focus on being the DJ. It was a “plug and play” dream! 🎧
But I’ll be totally honest: behind the beautiful photos and the perfect setting, this was a tough one for me. I struggled to keep that dance floor locked in, and at times, it was even empty. I left that night questioning everything.
Social media usually only shows the packed floors and the perfect transitions, but the reality is that every gig is a lesson. I’m my own harshest critic because my heart is solely focused on making people move, and when it doesn’t happen the way I envisioned, it hits hard.
I’m taking the lessons from this weekend to heart, growing from the challenge, and coming back stronger for the next one. Massive congrats to Stephanie and Frasat—it was a privilege to be part of your story!
