RAW/B

It's been a while since the official residency post by @tahoetechnocollective . But seeing as I never announced my residency on this account, I figured I'd do it now! Check us out every other Thursday at Rojos Tavern (first one is this week, 9/26. This past summer with the Tahoe Techno Collective (TTC) has been remarkable. Each set I've been able to hone in on what my style of techno is. First and foremost I want to make people dance. That requires, in my mind, engaging sounds and rhythms that pierce through the 4×4 beat. As I continue to progress on this journey, dark and hard elements seem to be coming to the forefront. Some people may hear the techno I play and think, wow this is demonic. But the reality is that we all have a shadow side that is ever-present, no matter how much one tries to suppress it. Through dark and heavy techno, I believe humanity can explore these suppressed aspects of our psyche and learn to live in harmony with them. Techno has been a healing journey for me. Every set I witness my confidence increase exponentially. I feel more at home and more connected with my friends and fellow artists than ever before. All because I have been trying to embrace that which hides in the dark corners of our world and relationships. I cannot wait for what the future holds. Thank you @tahoetechnocollective and @stationsevenproductions for giving me opportunities and supporting me with your whole hearts. I couldn't have asked for better friends and colleagues.

This year has brought more joy into my life than I ever could have imagined. This photo shocks me, mostly because I hardly recognize myself when I actually smile. Even though it feels like just the beginning, I'm so grateful to have made it even this far. As this small dream grows larger and larger, I can't help but recognize that I'm here because of the people who believe in me. While my hard work has helped improve my skills, it's the support from my community that has really made my thrive. I honor those of you who give me your faith so freely. Austin “AJ” Fox has been spinning records since 2011, driven by a deep passion for vinyl-collecting and an ever-evolving musical journey across genres. His sets deliver raw, immersive energy that connects deeply with underground audiences. Based in Sacramento, CA, Fox is co-founder of the influential Flowstate crew, helping build the city’s techno scene through carefully curated events. Over the years, he’s shared the booth with respected artists such as Lester Fitzpatrick, AADJA, 1morning, and Max Gardner, further cementing his place in the scene. His commitment to the local community also includes guest mixes for Sacramento-based label and podcast LTHM, showcasing his versatility and dedication. In addition to his DJ and event work, AJ collaborates closely with Sacramento-based DJ/Producer Miagma under the alias 48’92. Together, they’ve released an EP on Miagma’s label Not Safe For Wax, and continue to push their creative boundaries with fresh productions. AJ also releases solo material on his own imprint, Flatlander, adding his distinctive touch to the global techno conversation.
