ICYMI my beloved BM camp @opulenttemple – the longest-running community-based large-scale sound camp – is making our journey home to the playa this year. We were in massive debt after our big production efforts in 2024 and really need your help. We are not backed by billionaires or corporate interests and costs like propane and trucking have only gotten higher. There are multiple ways to support us and other community camps: 1. Thanks for everyone who came out to OPULENT PLAZA, our free pre-Burnal Equinox pop-up day party at Fulton Plaza last weekend. We loved seeing the O-Pod shining in the sun on a beautiful blue sky day. Noooooo not you too, @djdanmusic ! I’m devastated by this news. You were such an inspiration for me and so many others. I saw you play at my first Funky Tekno Tribe massive at Home Base in 1996 and said “I want to do what he’s doing” — then it was an honor to be able the share the stage and become your friend over the decades that followed. You were always so full of love and embodied PLUR. This is an incredible loss for the entire dance music and burner community. You are and always will be a legend. Rest in power, queen. 💔
