Back in 1996, before the world knew their names, Eminem and D12 were crafting underground gems like “Filthy,” a standout from The Underground EP. The track flips Roy Ayers’ “Bonita” (1969) into a gritty Detroit vibe, produced by DJ Head.
Fun fact: When Eminem recorded ‘Filthy,’ it was the first time he had Denaun actually rapping on a track rather than just producing. On recording day, Eye-Kyu didn’t show up, so Em told him, ‘Write a verse—you know how to rap, bro, just do it.’ That moment marked the real birth of Denaun as a full-fledged D12 member, not just a producer!
