HARVEY SCOTT WILLIAMS
It’s been 20 years or so since I bought my first ‘Harvey’….the visual artist and painter of some 216 gospel album covers for the Savoy group of labels.
The LP I’m holding was kinduva mystery just 5 years ago…a missing title in the discography….and after some deep research appears to be the rarest to find of known Harvey’s.
The collection here was built by multiple digging trips around the United States, online digs in Germany and Denmark, Japan, the UK and from many private collectors, friends and record dealers, and good ol’fashioned ebay. For the record, this copy was the first to ever appear on the bay…waiting for the auction to end was the most nerve racking 7 days of my diggin’ career! 😃
A massive thank you to all of you that have messaged me with Harvey’s…I doff my cap…please post up below so I can thank ya again one more time.
We have secured the visual rights to the images and will be publishing a book focusing on his gospel imagery once the narrative is written. No release date yet, but once the words are in, which hopefully will be in a coupla months, then it’s full steam ahead!

45 FRIDAY with Revival - We Came To Praise His Name b/w Something Wonderful (Harmony)
A super rare 45 that first came to light when record hound Mattie Valentine unearthed two copies in 2016…one came here, then the second followed suit last year. No other copies have surfaced in the last ten years.
Incredible two step on one side, flip it for an unknown night cap rola for the sweet soul crew. A proper stunner that’s set to blow up the right DJ’s record box.
Some folks say all the best records are already found…unless of course, you dig a bit deeper!
